Terms + Conditions
Terms and Conditions for Runstr.com
Effective Date: November 18, 2025
1. Agreement to Terms
Welcome to runstr.com (the "Site" or "Platform"), operated by Runstr ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you”), and Runstr, concerning your access to and use of the Platform and the services provided therein.
By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all of these Terms. If you do not agree with all of these Terms, then you are expressly prohibited from using the Site and you must discontinue use immediately.
2. Defined Roles on the Platform
The Runstr Platform involves three primary user roles:
Student/Creator: A K-12 student who registers an account to create and share content ("User-Generated Content" or "UGC") about their academic and extracurricular journeys. Students must be affiliated with a participating School.
Supporter/Subscriber: An individual (parent, family member, community member) who subscribes to a Student/Creator's content channel and pays a recurring monthly subscription fee.
School: An accredited K-12 educational institution that is registered with Runstr to receive funds generated by its affiliated students/creators.
3. Student/Creator Eligibility and Parental Consent
A. Age and Consent. Given that the Platform is designed for K-12 students, many of whom are minors (under 18), verifiable parental or legal guardian consent is mandatory for any Student/Creator under the age of 18 to create an account, share content, or participate in the fundraising mechanism. B. Compliance. Runstr requires all Student/Creators and their parents/guardians to comply with our policies regarding content, safety, and financial agreements. We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate any account that fails to provide or maintain verifiable parental consent.
4. User-Generated Content (UGC) and Ownership
A. Content License. By sharing posts, text, photos, videos, or other materials ("UGC") on the Platform, the Student/Creator (and their consenting Parent/Guardian, where applicable) grants Runstr a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use, host, reproduce, modify, publish, and distribute the UGC solely for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Runstr Platform and its related services. B. Content Standards. UGC must be related to the Student/Creator's academic or extracurricular journey and must strictly adhere to our Community Guidelines (as published separately), prohibiting illegal, hateful, harassing, or inappropriate content. Runstr has the sole right, but not the obligation, to remove or disable any UGC at any time for any reason.
5. Subscription, Payments, and Financial Terms
A. Subscription Terms. Supporters/Subscribers agree to a recurring monthly payment cycle for the chosen subscription level set by the Student/Creator. Payments will automatically renew until canceled by the Supporter/Subscriber. B. Fund Allocation. Runstr operates a transparent model for fund distribution: 1. Platform Fee: A flat $5 platform fee is deducted from each monthly subscription payment. This fee covers our operational costs and services. 2. School Funding: The entire remainder of the subscription amount, after the deduction of the $5 platform fee, is transferred directly to the Student/Creator's designated, affiliated School. C. Non-Refundable Nature. All subscription payments are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law. Since funds are immediately directed to the School (minus the Platform Fee), Runstr cannot process refunds for payments already distributed. D. School Use of Funds. Funds transferred to the School are considered unrestricted revenue for the School's general use (e.g., technology, resources, teacher support) and are not designated for the individual Student/Creator.
